First day of Week 2 is done!
I can only credit the planning I did last night for this morning’s success. Without that, I would’ve had a major mental battle this morning.
In order to assure I would get up early, I planned a mellow evening at home with the hubby. We cooked a healthy meal, skipped the usual vino, and watched some of our backlog of John Oliver.
Waking up early was important for two reasons:
First, it’s a pain in the ass to get a parking space at Lake Miramar on weekends. I have little patience and if I arrive and the lot is full: a) I’m immediately grumpy; and b) I eventually tell myself, “If I drive around this f’ing place one more time and there are no spots I’m going home.” And I will leave.
Second, it was supposed to be hot today–at least hot for San Diego. And I won’t run (or hike) if it’s hot.
I ended up waking before my alarm. And even though I was at the lake by 6:30am, the lot was almost full. I gave myself a high-five for sticking to my plan and knocked out my obligation for today. YAY!
A spot on the ball of my right foot has been sore off and on for months. I’m not sure what’s causing it, but since it’s not constant, I’ve put off going to get it checked. It didn’t hurt today, so I guess I’m blowing that off a little longer.
